Martha Spak Gallery presents a group exhibition titled Art in Bloom featuring artworks by 41 artists. Art in Bloom runs from March 11-April 24, 2022.
Celebrate spring with the Art in Bloom exhibition. This juried exhibition features forty-one colorful works of art by regional DMV artists. Barbara Januszkiewicz served as juror for this exhibition. Best in Show, 2nd Place and 3rd Place awards will be chosen by the juror. These awards are made possible in partnership with Blick Art Materials.
Regional artists were invited to submit works of art inspired by the theme spring renewal. This art call received 413 submissions from 150 artists. Juror Barbara Januszkiewicz was challenged to select art from this group of talented artists. Barbara selected paintings and sculpture in a variety of materials, styles and interpretations of the theme.
Each work of art in the exhibition exemplifies quality and originality. For example, a work entitled, “Musk Thistle” by Chase DeForest is a leather still life from his series that explores this invasive species. Another entitled, “Flower Child”, by Bob Biedrzycki is created with pen and black and white ink on toned paper. There are also metal and bead works with exceptional beauty and skill within this theme.
Visitors to the gallery are invited to cast their own vote for the People’s Choice Award. The exhibit can be viewed both at the gallery and Online HERE.
Gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday 12-6 and by appointment.
