Wanderlust:  A Year of reimaged travel, adventure and exploration” Exhibition

Martha Spak Gallery is pleased to present the art by artist Christina Flowers.  The “Wanderlust” exhibition will run from April 26 – May 29, 2021 both online and at the gallery.  The exhibition will focus on structured abstract paintings and hanging wooden sculpture.

Christina Flowers is best known for her use of color and interpretations of abstract moments realized in her hard edge paintings.  Trained first as an Architect and Industrial Designer, Christina approaches her work with structure and rhythm.  Her bold colors and geometric forms are influenced by her training and keen eye for architecture within the landscape.

“Wanderlust:  A year of re-imagined travel, adventure and exploration” is an exhibition about capturing and understanding the moments of the past year through constructed abstract landscape paintings on canvas. In recent work, Christina has been drawn to the moments between.  Emotions of anticipation, memory, longing, are created on canvas.  The clean lines and crisp colors convey clear thought and direction.  Her hanging wooden sculpture is equally compelling with clarity and weight.

Flowers says, “I am fascinated by the moments where elements of the landscape become tied to emotion. I strive to celebrate fleeting moments of wonder.  By painting the emotion along with the physical, I aim to take extraordinary moments and freeze them in time to be relived over and over.”

A reception for the artist will be held May 1 from 5-7pm with strict capacity limits and socially-distancing protocols in place.  Free tickets will be available through   This exhibition can be viewed and purchases can be made both online at and at the gallery.
