McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) will open From Here to Elsewhere: Kindled by Things on November 15, 2018 at MPA@ChainBridge (1446 Chain Bridge Road, McLean). The Opening Exhibition Reception will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.

Curated by MPA Exhibitions Director Nancy Sausser, From Here to Elsewhere showcases five artists who use materials—both ordinary and unusual—in new and unorthodox ways.

Featured artists include:

  • Suzi Fox
  • Maria Karametou
  • Ruth Lozner
  • Betsy Packard
  • Evan Reed

Bringing together found materials, building on and adding to what is already there, and placing objects in new contexts are a few of the ways employed by each of these artists. As a result, the viewer is encouraged to see differently and to follow the creative impulse of the artist into unexpected territory.

“I’ve had the seed for this exhibition in the back of my mind for a long time,” explained Sausser. “I’m particularly excited to have found a way to show works by these five artists, whom I consider to be some of the best artists working in the DC area today, together in the same space.”

From Here to Elsewhere: Kindled by Things runs November 15 through December 22, 2018 at MPA@ChainBridge. MPA@ChainBridge is located at 1446 Chain Bridge Road, McLean. For more information, please visit
