The Media Rise Festival will host a networking lounge event dedicated to conversations about the intersection of street art and social change. Street artists can be powerful change agents when collaborating with government, business and community allies. By re-imagining public space, they can bypass entrenched political institutions and traditional channels of civic engagement to connect directly with individuals to change not only the aesthetics of a given place but also the entire narrative of that community. By using their street art sensibility for commercial products, they can shift the perspective of consumers and brands toward socially or environmentally responsible purchase decisions. And by using their art in experiential exhibitions, they can spark dialogue in communities that otherwise might not share their voice.

Featured artists include:

  • Gregg Deal
  • Kelly Towles
  • Rose Jaffe
  • Peter Chang (moderator)
