Reception: Sunday, October 15 from 2pm to 4pm
Sahomi Naka is a printmaker who experiments with different approaches and techniques — mixing traditional techniques in new hybrid ways. Naka allows the materials to help her create the image. She collaborates with the medium rather than trying to force it towards an “unnatural” perfection. Her prints capture the fleeting moments of experience within life and nature. People from all over the world can connect with Naka’s artwork as it creates an ongoing dialogue, reflecting a long conversation about life, death and the human spirit. Naka believes one should speak out to keep the environment safe and healthy in order to maintain a successful art world.
