On March 16th at their Thursday ART+WINE+CHEESE event from 6:00-7:30pm, Nepenthe Gallery is celebrating their one year Anniversary with a huge dose of HAPPY, CHEER and LOVE as they present a collection of original works by the world-renowned Brazilian artist, Romero Britto.

The exhibit that evening will also feature works from several of the “Nepenthe” artists who have partnered with them this inaugural year.

Romero Britto (b. Brazil, 1963) is a painter, serigrapher and sculptor who uses vibrant colors and bold patterns as visual expressions of hope, dreams and happiness. He was always artistic, was heavily influenced by Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso, and had his first show at the University of Brazil at the age of twenty. His career has continued to flourish–he designed the United Nations postal stamps, he created the NFL Superbowl XLI pre-show with Cirque du Soleil and he has sold his artworks to celebrities, politicians and collectors all over the world. He is involved with many charities and serves as an activist for those organizations.

Nepenthe Gallery is located at Hollin Hall Shopping Center at 7918 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria, VA.
