A Necessary Order
Carolee Jakes
The woodblocks in this show were hand-carved and printed in my studio over the last year. Some of the paintings are new, some are old, but they are all linked to my perspective on life and art. To quote W.H. Auden, “Both in life and art the human task is to create a necessary order out of an arbitrary chaos.”

Collage of Featured Works, Clockwise from Top Left: Jo Levine, Gordon Binder, Gary Anthes, and Jane Kell.

Peace in Ambiguity
With this autumn season bringing uncertainty and ambivalence, Studio Gallery presents Peace in Ambiguity. This exhibition is a collection of works by more than twenty members from our artist’s cooperative, each displaying their own perception of our theme. Now more than ever is a time to reflect and remember the immense amount of peace and beauty that still exists in our surroundings. Although tomorrow is never promised, we must remind ourselves that bad times never last, and the good is yet to come.
