Printmakers Inc is proud to present Laura Weaver Huff’s final solo exhibition titled “Prints Past and Present”.  Laura Huff celebrates more than 40 years with the Torpedo Factory Art Center.  With more than 50 years as a silkscreen artist and printmaker – this solo exhibition showcases a delightful mix of both silkscreen and white line prints, and collages.  Many of which are the last remaining impression.  Her artist style combines both a 60’s vibrant palette and  repetition from the abstract art movement.  This retrospective begins with a searching psychedelic self-portrait from 1974, Who Am I? to her popular and highly collected skeletonized leaf series.  By repeating, overprinting, enlarging and layering the skeletonized leaf image, Laura has created forests, fans, and flowers, and more.   Additionally, she experimented with abstract images of clockworks wheels, leading to her Retroworks series with many variations, which is also included in this exhibit.    The Retroworks body of work evolved into bold and colorful collages by cutting large circles from some of those prints and rearranging them in different compositions.

Printmakers Inc is located at Torpedo Factory Art Center/Studio 325, 105 North Union Street, Alexandria, VA.
