Reception: Thursday, August 12 from 6pm to 9pm
Washington, DC-based artist Ravi Raman will close out his three-month exhibition at The Yard: Eastern Market with a reception on Thursday, August 12 from 6 – 9 pm.
Raman’s six acrylic-on-canvas paintings are part of a group show titled FEEL to commemorate and benefit mental health awareness.
FEEL is Raman’s first proper art exhibit since early March 2020 when the DC art scene ground to a COVID-feuled halt.
“Aside from a few virtual art exhibits I participated in over the past year, FEEL is the first opportunity I’ve had to showcase my canvas work – many of which were done during quarantine – to the public in more than a year. It feels like forever since I was able to interact with art aficionados and other artists in person!” said Raman. “The fact that the show also brings to attention the important issue of mental health is particularly gratifying.”
While the exhibit’s closing heralds a return to in-person art receptions, it is not entirely like the freewheeling affairs of pre-COVID days. To comply with COVID restrictions and precautions, visitors will have to make timed appointments via Eventbrite and wear masks to view the works.
