Event: Saturday and Sunday, May 14 and May 15 from 1pm to 4pm
Rose Jaffe’s next mural design is part of a community grant through the DC Commission on the Arts. It’s a mural titled Micro/Macro- Rooted in Space and features Jeanette Epps, a NASA space engineer and the first African American to complete the rigorous CAVES training. Ms. Epps attended the University of Maryland and is truly an inspiration.
As part of the mural unveiling celebration, Jaffe is hosting two days of art-making in the community gardens adjacent to the wall.
Saturday and Sunday, May 14-15 from 1-4 pm at 1524 2nd Street, SW, Washington, DC
You’ll have the opportunity to paint pre-cut panels with your artwork or fill in designs already outlined. The panels will then be attached to the fence to add beauty to the gardens and community. You can also just come by and see the brand new mural (fingers crossed I will be finished by then.. 🙂 and say hello. Please tell your friends, and come make some art in this special Southwest neighborhood! – Rose Jaffe
