Stephen Boocks: Play
September 5-October 26, 2014
Reception: Friday, September 5, 2014, 7-9 pm
Play, a solo exhibition of acrylic paintings and works on paper, explores the dynamics of time, pattern, and how we process works of art. Grounded in geometric abstraction, Stephen Boocks’ paintings present hand-drawn grids as underlying infrastructures upon which saturated hues and loose, almost playful marks create an intimate world influenced by musical compositions, and wherein straight lines are tempered by soft curves.
