Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum 50th Anniversary Community Block Party

Event: Saturday, October 7 from 11am to 4pm

The Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary with a Community Block Party featuring performers, artists, storytellers, and arts and crafts. Food trucks will be onsite. Visitors can also see the new retrospective exhibition, Your Community. Your Story. The anniversary is an opportunity for the museum to renew its mission and focus and become a cultural center that convenes conversations about community life. The day’s events are free and open to the public.
