Demonstration of cold wax and oil technique: Sunday, November 11 at 3pm
Colleen Clapp and Marion L. Griffin join forces to explore the unique possibilities of cold wax medium combined with oil paint. Like excavators who dig, scrape and scratch at the surface of the earth, Clapp and Griffin take a similar approach to their work. The process of working with layers of paint and was medium reveals unpredictable, visual patterns evocative of unearth walls, temples and ancient caves. This “unearthing” process is where the real breakthroughs happen and exciting discoveries unfold. Both artists use essentially the same techniques and tools to show their distinctive style and unique approach to their art. Clapp and Griffin will be presenting more than twenty new works, including a collaborative creation that the artists promise will “wow.”
