Journey to Joy reflects the path of four women artists who use abstraction to create uplifting paintings. The exhibit takes place from March – May 2019 at Takoma Beverage Company in Takoma Park, Maryland. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held with the artists on Friday, March 15 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The four painters exhibiting in the show, Debra Perkins, Hallie Sherard, Laura Tighe, and Lauren Chelec Cafritz, bring depth and excitement to their work through their unique sources of inspiration and innovative use of colors, shapes, and imagery. The exhibit includes paintings in diverse styles, reflecting the artists’ individual journeys and approaches to expressive painting. Their work is spontaneous and strong, enticing viewers in to engage with the rich colors and compositions to experience their own meaning from the work.
