Terzo Piano is presents To The Inquisitive, an exhibition of recent work by Andrew Christenberry.
The sculptural works continue the artist’s exploration of architectural structures and material combinations. Christenberry has also conceived several new sculptural pieces directly related to the artwork of his father, William Christenberry, Jr. The exhibition will open February 19, 2022 and will close April 3.
Christenberry is a proud Washingtonian, born and raised in Cleveland Park. In 1991 he enrolled in the Corcoran School of Art, where he quickly fell in love with creating in wood and metal, as well as concrete, fabric, glass, and other unorthodox combinations of materials. Later, he came to focus on building furniture, where he could channel his long standing admiration for functional craft and fine art. In 1997, Christenberry left for the Rhode Island School of Design, where he endured two challenging and intense years, obtaining an MFA in Furniture Design, before he returned to DC.
To The Inquisitive will be supplemented by the publication of a limited edition, full-color catalog with an essay by independent curator Laura Roulet.
