Terzo Piano announces its first bookshop exhibition Journeys, featuring new works by Freya Grand. The Washington DC-based artist is primarily known for her large, immersive landscapes. Journeys will open February 19 and close April 3, 2022.
During 2020, Freya began making a series of very small works (2” and 3” in size) and mounting them in accordion-fold books. She has said that during the fearful days of the early lockdown, these miniature narratives gave her a way to focus, a way to manage, a kind of visual diary. She thought about poetry chapbooks and the compelling tiny worlds contained in Books of Days. She thought about how the world around us seemed to be contracting and that we could now “only peer at life through a keyhole.”
