The Art League’s annual Patrons’ Show fundraiser returns for its 51st year on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Housed in Old Town’s Torpedo Factory Art Center, the Patrons’ Show features over 800 works of art, each one available to go home with ticket holders. Many of the photographs, paintings, drawings, sculptures, wall hangings, and ceramics far exceed the cost of admission. The night of the event, ticket holder’s names are drawn in random order, and those called early have their first choice among the hundreds of works. Before the event’s transition to online ticket sales, eager collectors would camp outside the building in propane-heated tents. Now to prepare, veteran patrons view the works as soon as the show is on display and create ranked lists of their favorite works. The show even has a dedicated app for rating, ranking, and sharing lists of art works called The Art Thief, available on iOS and Android platforms.

The event includes an after auction, where unclaimed works go to the highest bidder. For some deal-hunters, this is the main event.

Visitors may view the works beginning Wednesday, February 6, 2019 (through Saturday, February 16, 2019) at The Art League Gallery. To see works online, please check the Patrons’ Show 2019 website. Works may also be previewed by downloading the free Art Thief app.

This year’s program emcees are Robb Spewak And Oscar Santana of the Mike O’Meara radio show.

This event is made possible by the generous donations of original artworks by hundreds of area artists, including Rachel Collins, Delna Dasur, Danni Dawson, Avis Fleming, Mike Francis, Nancy Freeman, Michael Heilman, Alice Kale, Susan O’Neill, Sara Linda Poly, Gretchen Raber, Beverly Ryan, Jacqueline Saunders, Marsha Staiger, and Rick Weaver.
