The Capitol Hill Art League Hosts 'It’s a Private Passion' Juried All-Media Exhibit

Opening Reception: Saturday, November 10 from 5pm to 7pm

The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) presents It’s a Private Passion a juried all-media exhibit. Juror Rosemary Covey will present her remarks and awards at 5:30pm during the reception.

Ms. Covey is an American printmaker whose work focuses on wood engraving.  She was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and studied at Cornell University and the Maryland Institute College of Art. Ms. Covey was a 1998 recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Grant and has been commissioned by The New York Times and The Washington Post and has illustrated many books.  Ms. Covey has exhibited and given lectures both in the United States and internationally.

The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) is a visual arts program of the Capitol Hill
Arts Workshop, which presents six juried shows of members’ work annually in all media. CHAL provides artists with opportunities to exhibit and sell their work as well as providing professional services and networking.

Gallery hours are as follows:

  • Monday – Thursday 9:30am to 9pm
  • Friday 9:30am – 6pm
  • Saturday 9am to 2pm
  • Sunday- Closed
