Opening Reception: Friday, January 26 from 6pm to 9pm

The Torpedo Factory Artists’ Association (TFAA) presents Uncommon Visions, the third exhibition at Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic, on view January 24 – February 25, 2018. This mixed-media show features the work of more than 40 TFAA member artists. Each of the artists, through use of form, color, technique, or materials, aim to guide the audience into unexpected avenues and share their own personal perceptions.

“Visual perception remains the most often accessed ability to sense danger, attraction, disgust and beauty. Almost entirely based on human emotion and memory, initial perception should provoke an observer to venture further or take another path,” said curator Susan Gulick. “Uncommon Visions invites viewers to explore new ways to see, to embrace unfamiliar pathways, and to look beyond the visual and their own perception.”

An opening reception will take place on January 26 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. More information, including a full list of participating artists, can be found at

Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic is a temporary satellite gallery by the Torpedo Factory Artists’ Association at Mosaic in Fairfax, Virginia. This gallery continues the Torpedo Factory model of connecting viewers directly with artists— allowing visitors and clients to engage in the creative process, an experience that is approachable and interactive. Artists will create work onsite at the Mosaic gallery every Thursday and Friday, with additional demonstrations on certain Saturdays. Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic will operate until February 28, 2018.
