Event: Sunday, June 26 from 12pm to 6pm

The (Up)Rising Festival is taking place for the second year on June 26, 2016 along Rhode Island Avenue NE, Washington, DC. This choose-your-own-art-adventure weaves through businesses, open areas, and vacant properties between the 600-2300 blocks of Rhode Island Ave NE and is hosted and curated by ReCreative Spaces and Rhode Island Avenue Main Street.

(Up)Rising Festival encourages collaboration, compassion, resilience, and the human spirit through a fun, multi-sensory day of  celebration. Visual and performing artists will share their visions of positive change through original works and will engage attendees in hands-on activities.

(Up)Rising Festival celebrates DMV-based artists, performers, vendors and organizations working to create positive change in their communities.  45+ artists and organizations, and 15+ businesses will participate and include Plaza Artist Materials, Soul & Ink, The PanTones, rex, DJ M Dot, Becky Borlan, Arthur Kwon Lee, AfroBaby, The Big Cheese, Hands on Drums, Art Enables, Zeke’s Coffee, and many more.

This event is free, open to the public, and family friendly. WETA Arts coverage from last year’s festival may be seen here.
