Event: Saturday-Sunday, May 7-8 from 10am to 5pm
VisArts is pleased to present the 10th Annual Rockville Arts Festival, Saturday-Sunday, May 7-8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., in Rockville Town Square. The Festival will be held rain or shine. Admission is free.
“The annual Rockville Arts Festival is a natural extension of VisArts’ mission to to transform lives and connect individuals of all ages and abilities through the arts,” says VisArts Executive Director, Alice Nappy. “Art brings people together – and the Festival is a celebration of creativity and community.”
Throughout the weekend, VisArts will transform the streets surrounding Rockville Town Square into a vibrant outdoor gallery. Visitors can stroll the Square and enjoy one-of-a-kind art, local bands and dancers, art demonstrations, artisanal and festival food, beer, and wine.
“The Festival offers art that appeals to the casual shopper as well as the serious collector,” says Festival Director, Robin Markowitz. “It’s two days of art, food, and fun – and the perfect place to find a unique Mothers’ Day gift.”
The diverse group of 130 artists from around the country share a passion for creating the finest art available in America today – including ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, and mixed media.
Visitors will also be able to view Frame & Frequency VIII, an international new media, film, and video art exhibition, in VisArts’ Buchanan Room, which will be open 12-4 p.m. during the Festival.
The Festival is sponsored by the City of Rockville, Cambria Hotels & Suites, Sandy Spring Bank, and True Respite Brewing Company.
