Glimpse into the creative and professional work of 15 WSS faculty members, representing a variety of media, scales and academic backgrounds.

Washington Studio School’s (WSS) Annual Faculty Show features a vibrant cross section of the artists who make WSS a special place for creativity, learning and finding one’s own personal vision: our faculty. It provides an opportunity for students and members of the community to glimpse into the creative and professional work of 15 faculty members, representing a variety of media, scales and academic backgrounds. WSS’s cadre of faculty is evolving to become more diverse in ages and backgrounds. Yet there remains a shared teaching language based on the acquisition of observational skills and technical proficiency in applying methods and materials to drawing, painting and sculpture. Some of the faculty members have been with WSS since its early days preserving the School’s aesthetic tradition and studio-based practices, while others have recently joined and contribute to a wider spectrum of teaching contemporary art at WSS.
