Reception: Friday, November 18 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
On November 18, 2016, White Cloud Gallery will host Afro Frontal, a pop-up art exhibition and auction presented by Osengwa and The Monroe Trust. The reception is from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at 1843 14th St. N.W.
In celebration of the grand opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Afro Frontal will feature illustrations, paintings, and photography by a collective of artists of African descent. Afro Frontal seeks to fuse the spirit of African culture with the soul of African American society and brings together more than 10 artists from different backgrounds such as Senegal, Nigeria, and South Africa.
This curated collection will be auctioned off online beginning Friday, November 11 at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, November 18 at 9:00 p.m. The collection can be viewed and bids may be placed prior to the exhibition on Osengwa’s website,www.osengwa.com. A portion of the proceeds will go to two charities: Socially Africa, for their next Art for a Cause event, and to HSC Home Care, for the Huggable Hope Campaign.
