Opening Reception: Friday, March 6 from 6pm to 8pm

The Willow Street Gallery is pleased to present TRACK STARS, an art exhibition exploring movement through cities- be it by foot, wheels, or rail. The show will run from March 6 – April 12, 2020.

Washington, DC based artists Sara Dean, Allison Friedel, Robb Hill, Anthony Holten, and Benjamin Kaufman share their experiences with the systems of transportation found both locally and around the world. In this photography-based show, TRACK STARS uses various techniques to play with the power of movement and place, bending and reshaping the shared spaces of our daily commutes. In this exhibit, familiar scenes of the DC Metro are warped into surreal and fantastic vistas. Our cars and buses are stretched and shrunk and sometimes missing altogether, mimicking the speed and delay of travel. Through these images, the viewer is invited to question how transportation impacts the way we traverse our surroundings and shape our landscape.
