Leni Paquet-Morante is a recognized New Jersey artist and Maryland native whose upcoming show of paintings at Glen Echo Park’s Yellow Barn Gallery marks a first public exhibition in Maryland. The artist will be at the gallery for the duration of the show.

Both a painter and sculptor, Leni has a massive bronze piece permanently installed at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda. Funded by the school’s community, it was created during her 1986 residency as an Artist-In-Education grantee through the Maryland State Arts Council. She is also a 1981 graduate of WWHS and its storied art program.

The contemporary landscape paintings on canvas in this exhibition reflect Leni’s plein-air expeditions through Canada’s Bay of Fundy, Cape Cod, California, Maine, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland over the last few years. She is a full-time artist with a studio located within the Grounds For Sculpture complex in Hamilton, New Jersey. Solo exhibitions include Princeton University (2017, 1995), Johnson & Johnson Corporate Headquarters (2019, 1998), and Mercer County Community College (2021). Her work is in private, institutional, and corporate collections internationally.
