Introduction to Gold Foil Stamping with Mariko Iwata, April 12 | $50
Learn how to foil print on a Kensol Hot Stamping Press. Types of foil that will be used include gold foil & matte colored foil. There will be a printing demonstration on various materials such as paper, leather, and book cloth. You will take home a printed bookmark you pressed yourself and have the tools necessary to order your own plates, set type to press your own design at a later time.

Introduction to Monotype Prints with Amy Callner, April 28 | $150
Ages 10 & Up
Learn to make one-of-a-kind multicolor prints using Plexiglas plates, inks, stencils, mark making tools, and a printing press. This class is a fun introduction to the printshop if you have never done any printmaking before, and is open to ages 10 and up.

Color Woodcuts with Sean Starwars, May 4 – 6 | $325

Come hammer out carvings and blast out prints, Starwars style! In this intensive woodcut workshop with Outlaw Printmaker, rock star artist, and professional Mountain Dew drinker, Sean Starwars, you’ll learn how to carve and print a 4-color image from multiple wood blocks, along with tips and tricks for image preparation, tool selection and maintenance, ink mixing, and carving and printing techniques.

Japanese Papermaking with Tatiana Ginsberg, May 5 & 6 | $310

Learn all aspects of Japanese papermaking, from selection of fiber to cooking, picking, beating, sheet forming, pressing, and drying. The traditional techniques will lead to your own experimentation. Whether you are an experienced papermaker or have never made paper before, learning to make washi is an inspiring process that will teach you about the nature of paper as a material.
