Workshop: Friday, December 8 from 9:30am to 1:30pm

Join the Arts Council of Fairfax County, Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services, and Arts for the Aging at a Creative Aging Workshop for Teaching Artists on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 9:30am-1:30pm at the Lincolnia Senior Center (4710 N Chambliss St., Alexandria, VA 22312).

Creative aging is a national movement to advance understanding of the vital relationship between creative expression and healthy aging, and a term used to encompass the many types of quality arts programs that support and enrich the lives of older adults. This half-day professional development workshop will provide dynamic presentations, program observation, participatory activities and discussion to address the fundamentals of Creative Aging, Fairfax community resources, and best practices in the field.

Participants will become familiar with Fairfax County Senior Centers, learn about opportunities to work with the 50+ community (including the Creative Aging Festival each May), and explore creative aging program design.

RSVP to Lisa Mariam, Director of Grants and Services at the Arts Council of Fairfax County at or 703-642-0862 x1.
