Fridays, July 5, 19, and 26 and August 2, 16, and 23 – Working From the Figure Drop-In Figure Drawing
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop hosts drop-in Working from the Figure sessions on Fridays, July 5, 19, and 26 and August 2, 16, and 23, 2019 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at 545 7th Street, SE. Work on drawings or paintings in front of a live model in a session without formal instruction, facilitated by artist Will Fleishell. Please bring your own drawing materials. Easels are available. Saturdays, July 13, 20, and 27 and August 3 and 10 – Capitol Hill Arts Workshop’s Free Drop-In Summer Saturdays for the Whole Family
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop is excited to announce Summer Saturdays, drop-in art experiences for the whole family from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays, July 13, 20, and 27 and August 3 and 10 at 545 7th St, SE. Each Saturday, one of CHAW’s amazing teaching artists will lead families in a guided art project. Meet new people, learn a new skill, and create something amazing at CHAW! Free and open to all, donations encouraged to CHAW’s Paint Bucket for Tuition Assistance. First come, first served. Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 26 – Capitol Hill Arts Workshop hosts a Teen Photography Institute
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop hosts a two-week Teen Photography Institute for students in grades 8 – 12 from Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 26, 2019 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th St, SE. The two-week camp is designed to cultivate visual literacy and personal vision through the techniques and history of photography. Students need no previous photography experience and will learn how to shoot, develop, and print black and white film photographs. The camp will wrap up with a group exhibition curated by the students and is open to all friends and family to join. $675 for two weeks. Payment plans and tuition assistance available. Monday, July 29 – Friday, August 9  – Capitol Hill Arts Workshops presents a Middle School Ceramics Institute
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop hosts a two-week Ceramics Institute for students in grades 6 – 8 from Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 9, 2019 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th St, SE. This two-week ceramic workshop is for students who are interested in exploring their creativity and learning about the endless possibilities of clay through hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. Learn to create bowls, mugs and other functional objects as well as experiment with sculptural forms. Clear instructions will be provided with plenty of room for students to take ownership over their projects and make them their own.
