Fridays, March 1, 15 and 22 – Working From the Figure Drop-In Figure Drawing
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) hosts drop-in Working from the Figure sessions on Fridays, March 1, 15 and 22, 2019 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at 545 7th Street, SE. Work on drawings or paintings in front of a live model in a session without formal instruction, facilitated by artist Will Fleishell. Please bring your own drawing materials. Easels are available. Saturday, March 2 – Capitol Hill Art League Opening Reception for Home, an all-media art exhibit
The Capitol Hill Art League hosts an opening reception for Home, an all-media juried exhibit on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th St, SE. The juror for the show is Anke Van Wagenberg, Chief Curator at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, Maryland. The exhibit runs until March 30, 2019. Friday, March 8 – Paint & Sip with teaching artist Ellen Cornett
Join instructor Ellen Cornett for Paint & Sip, an evening of art and fun on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Art Workshop (CHAW), 545 7th St, SE. Receive step-by-step instruction as you create your own masterpiece while enjoying refreshments. Cost is $30 and includes all materials. Thursday, March 19 – Pots & Plants Ceramics Mini-series
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop presents a four-week workshop Pots & Plants Mini-series on Thursdays, March 14 through April 4, 2019 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with teaching artists Rebecca Bock and Jesse Deglidish. Students will learn how to make various types of thrown and hand-built pots including how to trim and glaze. The class concludes with planting succulents in the newly made pots.
