Workshop: Saturday, October 14 from 11am-3pm
Tap into your unconscious creativity during Art Enables’ 2nd Saturday Workshop on October 14! Artists of all ages and abilities are able to draw overlapping shapes and curvy lines. This is the basis of Neurographic Art. This art form transforms its creator’s ability to stop thinking and just relax. During the workshop, you will learn to create these wildly colorful abstract artworks under the guidance of Art Enables staff member Aimee Wanner, using markers, watercolors, and crayons.
Drop in anytime between 11 am and 3 pm to enjoy this free, family-friendly, and inclusive workshop. We’ll provide all the materials that you will need to create your masterpieces. All you need to bring is a willingness to experiment and have fun!
Art Enables 2nd Saturday Workshops are free, family-friendly, and welcome all art-making abilities. Registration is recommended to secure your spot. They may close registration if we reach capacity.
Art Enables is committed to providing access to everyone. If you require accommodation during your visit, please make a note in the RSVP or email them at [email protected].
What is Neurographic Art?
Russian psychologist Pavel Piskarev coined the term Neurography or Neurographica in 2014. He has described the methods and process of this Neurographic art as something that creatively can transform the world. By this, he specifies how using the simplest tools to draw through this technique is a link between conscious and unconscious. This connection is made by the brain cells called neurons being activated in a way that brings forth awareness and mindfulness. This awareness and mindfulness can turn stress into calm. Neurographic art has been used as a healing aid for everything from stress relief, anxiety, chronic pain, and grief, among many more.
Art Enables is located at 2204 Rhode Island Ave NE.
