Hyattsville Figure Drawing Group: Every Tuesday!
October 22, 6–9 pm | $15 for Pyramid members, $20 for non-members 
Each weekly session begins with 5-minute warm-up poses with a classical nude model and culminates with a single, sustained pose for the remainder of the session. Bring your own materials. Walk-ins and late arrivals welcome, no experience necessary! learn more

MAKE + TAKE:
Miniature Drypoints
October 22 | 7–9 pm | $40
Come scrape into some metal and get a bit inky while making miniature drypoint prints using zinc plates! Drypoint techniques allow you to work directly on your plate with no grounds or acids required. Get ready to experiment and have fun! No previous printing experience required. learn more

WORKSHOP:
Letterpress Printed Buttons
October 23 | 6–9 pm | $75
In this quick workshop, you’ll make buttons from decorative papers printed with some of Pyramid’s most precious type, embellish with stamps and other decorations, and then smack into a button. Walk away with a collection of buttons to wear, as well as some to trade or give away. learn more

Block. Print. Repeat.

Join this fun and hands-on workshop where you will design and carve block prints to create your own collection of meditatively repetitive, multi-colored decorative papers. Learn a new skill while meeting other creative people, and leave with gorgeous patterns that you made yourself. learn more

COMMUNITY EVENT:
Monster MashUp Prints
October 26 | 5–7 pm | FREE!
Join us for this family-friendly Halloween printmaking event. Create your own unique creature mash-ups with our hand-carved, monster-themed relief blocks. Everyone will leave with candy and their own hand-printed monster—it’s going to be a graveyard smash!

WORKSHOP:
Cast Paper Collagraphs
October 26 & 27 | 10 am–1 pm | $155
You will learn the basics of pulling sheets of paper, inking collagraph plates, and casting pulp. The result is a unique print that has depth on the high areas of the plate. We will explore this process with different types of paper pulp, inking methods, and image-making tools. learn more

WORKSHOP:
Ages 10+: Introduction to Monotype Prints
November 2 | 10 am–4 pm | $155
Learn to make one-of-a-kind multicolor prints using Plexiglas plates, inks, stencils, mark-making tools, and the Rembrandt printing press. This is a fun introduction to the printshop, and is open to ages 10 and up. Students under 16 get 50% off tuition! learn more

WORKSHOP:
Screenprinting 102
November 3 | 12–5 pm | $130
Ready to move beyond a one-color screenprint? In this silkscreen workshop, you will learn to design and register multi-layer prints. You will use overlapping layers to expand the color range of a print and continue to explore screenprint’s creative possibilities. learn more

Pulp Painting
November 5 | 6:30–9:30 pm | $75
Create painterly images using nothing but paper pulp! In this class, you will learn the pulp paint pigmentation process, different methods of applying it to a background base sheet, and the basics of pulling and drying sheets of handmade paper. learn more
