Open Studio dc is a screenprinting studio for artists. Equipped with everything a fine art screenprinter might need – from high quality inks to a large exposure unit – artists can arrange to work at the studio for a month, a year, or to complete a specific project.

Introducing Screenprinting Workshops

Open Studio dc has announced a Fall schedule of screenprinting workshops  for beginners as follows:

  • Introduction to Screenprinting – October 7 and November 18
  • Introduction to Screenprinting T-Shirts – October 16
  • Screenprint Your Own Holiday Cards – November 13 & 20

Each workshop is one day for 3-4 hours. The complete list of classes and more information (including registration) can be found on their website: openstudiodc.com

First Fridays are For Art Students or Recent Graduates.  First Fridays will be held on the first Friday of each month starting on November 4, 2011 from 5pm – 10pm.  First Fridays are geared toward art students or recent art school grads who are looking for an affordable place to screenprint and who have at least some basic screenprinting skills.  If you have never screenprinted before, please take one of the workshops listed above first.

The price is $30/night and includes screens and economical inks.  Bring your own images on transparencies, tape, registration tools and printing paper — or whatever else you want to print on – and they’ll supply the rest.

Open Studio dc is located at 1348 Florida Ave. NE, Washington, DC.
