Urban Decay V is the fifth installment of the long-running, popular art exhibition created in 2010 by artist and curator Deb Yarrington of Urban Art Syndicate. Urban Decay focuses on the aesthetic of urban, low-brow art practices and new contemporary ideologies within our modern art world. With origins in comics, punk music, hot-rod street culture, street art, tattoo art and other subcultures, artists are hand-picked through common and distinct art practices that appeal to this modern pop culture generation.
This is the first year this exciting exhibition will be held in DC at the Fridge Gallery, an art gallery, performance space, music venue located on Barracks Row in the historic Eastern Market neighborhood of Washington, DC.
The opening reception for Urban Decay V will be Saturday, June 7th at 7:00pm. Opening night will feature special art demonstrations by featured Urban Decay Artists and DJ’s provided by Bassradio FM and Expansion Broadcast.
